Sevens Kissaten: Escape to this minimalist Japanese teahouse in Tiong Bahru, serving up Japanese omakase breakfast and matcha treats

About this promotion

The newest kid in Tiong Bahru has got to be this Japanese teashop, Sevens Kissaten. Situated along Seng Poh Road, just adjacent to Tiong Bahru Market, this quaint little teashop serves up authentic Japanese breakfast, delightful teas and delicious dessert.

Perfect if you are looking for a little heartland escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Sevens Kissaten

We hope you’ve brought your appetite, cause the Salmon Angel hair Pasta (S$18) is one of their specialities, as well as the Kissaten Wagyu Don (S$42), featuring A5 Kagoshima Wagyu steak slices on rice, accompanied with an onsen egg and topped with tobiko.

Their All-Day Breakfast highlights include the colourful 7S Breakfast (S$32), featuring a selection of omakase dishes which change regularly, so you will definitely be in for a surprise treat when you order this dish, alongside the Chicken Stew Thick Toast (S$19). The delightfully square loaf is hollowed out and filled with a creamy white chicken stew, along with bread soldiers for extra dipping pleasure.

The folks at Seven Kissaten definitely take desserts seriously, as seen with their 7S Parfait (S$12), consisting of matcha ice cream sitting on a bed of, you guessed it, salt. For something slightly more traditional, go for the Matcha Monaka (S$12), made up of matcha ice cream, red bean jam and mochi crepe, sandwiched between thin Japanese rice wafers.
