Hoo-Gah: purchase Modern Vietnamese Food less than $8
About this promotion
New cafes rise to greet us all the time, but what sets one apart from another is the unique experience each bring to the table. Hoo-gah is a mod-Vietnamese student-owned cafe in Shenton Way, and no, we’re not referring to the lifestyle store. At the store, you’ll find light bites that are banh mi with a twist, as well as interesting dessert drinks that are mostly under S$4, with the exception of the Hoo-Gah Coconut Shake (S$4.50).
Lauded as a modern take on the classic Vietnamese sandwich-esque item that most Singaporeans have come to love, Hoo-Gah jazzes up tradition with a zing of character.
The Hoo-Gah Beef Cheese (S$7.90), stuffed with stir-fried beef and mozzarella cheese, is what I’ll most definitely be making a beeline for, while there also exists the wallet-friendly Hoo-Gah Pork Floss (S$4.90) which presents a great on-the-go option for minimum spillage.
Drinks
From the Peach Tea (S$3.50) to Cheese Tea (S$2.90), you’ll find drinks to cater to your every mood — regardless of whether you’re up for a heavy, creamy beverage or if you just want something refreshing to quench your thirst.
The Coffee Coconut (S$3.90) particularly has my attention because of its interesting blend, but if you’re feeling less adventurous, then there’s always the trusty Coconut Shake (S$4.50) to fall back on.
The Space
Albeit a 28-seater space, Hoo-Gah’s charm lies in its simplicity. It’s a great stop for a mid-afternoon bite, and a refreshing pick-me-up to boot.
