Advocado integrates NETSPay to its platform

Customer loyalty platform Advocado partnered payment service provider NETS to enable users to pay for their purchases using NETSPay and redeem their loyalty rewards in one app. Some of the merchants participating in this partnership include Pro Trim Hair Studio, EagleWings Loft, Ash & Char and Gamemartz.

The Singapore startup was founded in 2016 and has since gathered over 500 merchants and 700 outlets that are targeting the consumer market. It has over 415,000 users to date.

The app aggregates loyalty programmes into one place, eliminating the need to carry loyalty cards and download brand apps. Merchants simply register customers with their phone numbers.

Advocado is set to launch a similar e-payment integration in Thailand later this year. Besides Singapore and Thailand, it also has a presence in the Philippines, Hong Kong and Malaysia.

The fully self-funded firm is looking to raise its Series A funding.

Zebra survey reveals a desire for more empowerment among store associates

In its 11th annual Global Shopper Study, Zebra Technologies Corporation reveals general negative sentiments about their jobs among store associates.

49 per cent [of surveyed sales associate] feel overworked.

  • 49 per cent feel overworked.
  • Store associates cite frustration with their inability to assist customers as 42 per cent find they have little time to help shoppers because of the pressure to get other tasks completed, while another 28 per cent claim that it’s difficult to get information to help shoppers.
  • 83 per cent of retail decision makers and 74 per cent store associates concur that shoppers can have a better experience with technology-equipped sales associates.
  • Two-thirds of surveyed associates believe that if they are equipped with tablets, they could provide better customer service and improve the shopping experience.

Consumers are also expecting more from retailers that are collecting their data.

  • Only 13 per cent of surveyed shoppers completely trust retailers to protect their personal data, the lowest level of trust among 10 different industries.
  • 73 per cent of surveyed shoppers prefer flexibility to control how their personal information is used.

MindSphere World launches ASEAN-Pacific chapter in Singapore to strengthen IIoT ecosystem in the region

MindSphere World facilitates collaboration among members to accelerate problem-solving and opportunity identification with IIoT across industries.

The worldwide association launched its first regional chapter outside Europe that aims to bring together various stakeholders to form an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) community in the ASEAN-Pacific region and supporting its members in developing and improving IIoT solutions.

MindSphere World facilitates collaboration among members to accelerate problem-solving and opportunity identification with IIoT across industries. The association will also lead IIoT education efforts, sharing knowledge in workplaces and academic institutions.

The founding members of MindSphere World in ASEAN-Pacific are multinational corporations, small and medium enterprises, consulting companies and educational institutes with a presence in the ASEAN-Pacific region.
